RasMapper ability to add Vertices on existing features

Bob D
I have used RASmapper on several 1D mapping projects.  The tools are really useful, especially the ability to lay out your own cross-sections.  Does the functionality extist to add vertices to an existing feature such as a cross-section, and then bend and extend the section?  I have not discovered how that is accomplished. I really don't want to delete feature, and then redraw section.  I am using HEC-RAS 5.06.

So, in RASMapper when I right click on EDIT GEOMETRY (Beta)  I get two main choices.
1) Add new features
2) Edit Feature

In Edit Feature, I don't see choice to add a vertice.  How is that done?

Just do it in the geometry data editor by selecting "edit>add points"

From there once the points are added select "Edit>move Points"

Once done editing just repeat the option to uncheck the action. Then open the cross section in the geometry data editor and select the button at the top right to "cut from terrain" which updates the cross sections data to the appropriate terrain

Luis,
thank you greatly for your input on extending cross-sections.  I also need to extend river say 100 or 200 feet etc in order to add additional cross-sections.  How do I do that in geometric editor or RASMAPPER?

You can do this in Mapper really easy. In HEC-RAS 5.0.6 they added some new features as well.  In Mapper in edit mode, just double click on the feature and if you hover over the line, a point will show up. Just click and it adds a point.  If you need to add XS, you can do that as well and have it extract the terrain data and calculate reach lengths and bank stations as well.

Same way. You can also do the method cameron stated above. Because whatever you do in the geometry data editor you would have to manually re enter DS reach lengths by measuring the new lengths manually.

If you do it in ras mapper, it will calculate it for you
